A novel cosmetic and clinically practicable laser immunotherapy for facial verruca plana: Intense pulsed light combined with BCG-PSN

Facial verruca plana is a common, benign lesion characterized by skin-colored or light brown flat papules. Facial verruca plana is an infection of keratinocytes caused by human papilloma virus (HPV). HPV types 3 and 10 occur most commonly as multiple verruca plana, which manifests as recurrent flat papules, mostly on the face [1]. Facial verruca plana causes major cosmetic and social concerns, which motivates patients to seek treatment. Common conventional therapeutic approaches include cryotherapy, topical retinoids, salicylic acid, imiquimod, topical immunotherapy, immunotherapy, or photodynamic therapy [2].
