Efficacy of Er Cr: YSGG laser therapy at different frequency and power levels on bond integrity of composite to bleached enamel

Bleaching of the vital teeth has two major reasons. One is to remove extrinsic stains caused by coffee, tea or food color and the other is to minimize the intrinsic stains in the dentine [1]. However, unfortunately, these bleaching procedures have some unfavorable outcome on the enamel i.e. making enamel susceptible to carious attack, increase tooth sensitivity, loss of enamel prism core [2] and reduction in the bond strength of enamel to adhesive materials [3]. Adhesive bond failures compromise the outcome of the treatment, in the form of marginal staining, microleakage, recurrent caries and restorative failure [4].
