Increasing evidence of potential toxicity of a common antibiotic combination
We read with interest the Al Yami et al. article concerning acute kidney injury (AKI) rates in patients on concomitant vancomycin and piperacillin –tazobactam (VPT) vs vancomycin (V) and merrem. Their retrospective cohort study showed an increased incidence of AKI in patients on combination antibiotic therapy [1].
