Levosulpiride Induced Restless Leg Syndrome: A Report

Levosulpiride is benzamide derivative, l-enantiomer of sulpiride Rossi and Forgione,1 levosulpiride selectively inhibits D2 dopamine receptors in the central nervous system and gastrointestinal tract and has 5-HT4 agonistic activity. It is widely used as prokinetic alone as well as with the combination of proton pump inhibitors (PPI). D2 receptor blockade in the gastrointestinal system2 and 5HT4 agonistic action in cholinergic neurons promote gastrointestinal motility and mediate the prokinetic effects.
