Emergency Preparedness Toolkit for Rural Communities

Emergency Preparedness and Recovery: A Toolkit for Rural Communities is a publication from the Texas Chapter of the American Planning Association. Focused on disaster recovery in rural communities, this toolkit is the product of a grant from the American Planning Association in which recipients focused on a high priority project in their community that emphasized the intersection between planning and public health. With the intention to be used in conjunction with a community’s disaster response and recovery plans, this toolkit includes sections on needs assessment, case management, public relations and finance. If you’re interested in more resources regarding emergency preparedness for rural communities, the Rural Health Information Hub has a page on Rural Emergency Preparedness and Response.
