Doing a science A Level / improving maths GCSE for GEM

I completed my undergraduate degree in a non science subject last academic year and have since been volunteering in order to gain experience and knowledge. I won't bore people with my background etc but I would be grateful for some advice. I am hoping to apply to the GEM course at Nottingham and SGUL. Although both universities don't require specific GCSE's or A Levels I was wondering, with some time between now and when I apply, would it benefit my application (and if I get in and become a doctor) or later on in a medical career to have a grade A /A* in maths GCSE (I currently hold a C maths was my weakest result) or a Chemistry or Biology A Level ( I did not take any science A Levels) I'd appreciate any feedback and advice. Thanks.
