Rapid and dynamic arginylation of the leading edge β‐actin is required for cell migration
This study demonstrates that β‐actin arginylation occurs primarily at the very edge of migrating cells, that it responds rapidly to cell stimulation inducing migratory behavior, and that its inhibition severely impairs cell migration. These data strongly suggest that arginylation is a dynamic modification of the leading edge actin that is integral to the migration‐dependent signaling network.
