Sonographic appearance of endometrial osseous metaplasia

Abstract Osseous metaplasia of the endometrium is a rare condition characterized by the presence of mature or immature bone in the endometrium. Most cases present with secondary infertility following an abortion or chronic endometritis. Some patients are asymptomatic, while others have menstrual abnormalities such as menorrhagia or oligomenorrhea. Removal of the bony fragments helps in spontaneous conception. We hereby present two cases of osseous metaplasia of the endometrium with radiological and pathological correlation.
