Innovation in dental education: The “On‐the‐Fly” approach to simultaneous development, implementation and evidence collection

ConclusionsWhen pioneering an innovative technology in a specialty field, the development stage often precedes evidence for its effectiveness. Consciously choosing the “on‐the‐fly” approach clarifies to stakeholders in advance about the lack of evidence in an innovation and the need of their support to collect such evidence for improvement and in order to facilitate implementation.
