In 2015, approximately 46.8 million individuals worldwide had dementia, with this figure predicted to approximately double every 20 years to 113.5 million individuals with dementia by 2050 (Prince, Comas-Herrera, Knapp, Guerchet,& Karagiannidou, 2016).
