ConclusionApplication of HA‐CMC membranes to anastomoses or intestinal incisions did not influence postoperative complications or survival after emergency celiotomy compared with controls.
Clinical significanceThe safety and efficacy of HA‐CMC membrane application to intestinal sites during colic surgery in horses is equivocal.
