Immunolocalization of muscarinic M1 receptor in the rat medial prefrontal cortex

This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved. The intracellular distribution pattern of muscarinic M1 receptor (M1R) was examined in the rat prelimbic cortex. In pyramidal neurons, M1R is widely distributed including somata, dendritic shafts, and spines. In parvalbumin‐containing neurons and astrocytes, M1R is preferentially distributed in their somata.
