Ketamine reduces suicidal ideation in trial with midazolam control

A single infusion of ketamine resulted in a greater reduction in suicidal thoughts in comparison with midazolam among patients with depression, with clinical improvement sustained for up to six weeks, a new study has found. Side effects from ketamine were mild to moderate and usually lasted no more than a few hours after infusion.
