Comparative analysis of the transcriptome of injured nerve segments reveals spatiotemporal responses to neural damage in mice

By performing RNA sequencing and differentially expressed gene analysis of injured mouse sciatic nerves following nerve transection, the authors demonstrate similarity and differences between the transcriptomic changes in the regenerating proximal nerve segment and in the degenerating distal nerve segment of the lesioned peripheral nerve.
