Simulation-based Transfusion Education for Medical Students

We were interested to read the work by Konia et al1 that compared three different methods for teaching transfusion medicine to medical students. At our institution, we developed a mixed methods Transfusion Medicine curriculum which uses a simulation component. We implemented this approach as a mandatory component for second-year medical students in 2017. All members of the second-year medical student class present on the day of the activity (N = 50) participated. Students were divided into working groups of 5-6 students.
