[Correspondence] Young adults: a unique group in cancer epidemiological research – Authors' reply
We thank Olga Husson and colleagues for their comments and agree that a classification system tailored more specifically to this age group would reveal the importance of specific cancer forms commonly observed in childhood and adolescence. However, our primary objective was to present a comprehensive and representative analysis of the cancer burden among young adults worldwide.1 We used the International Agency for Research on Cancer's GLOBOCAN database,2 since incidence and mortality estimates are available for 184 countries classified according to the international standard for reporting diseases and health conditions (the International Classification of Diseases).
