Influence of Nurse Staffing Levels on Resident Weight Loss Within German Nursing Homes

Nursing home research has found that certain nursing home conditions, such as low nurse staffing levels, negatively influence health status of residents (Castle& Engberg, 2008; Dyck, 2007; Woo, Chi, Hui, Chan,& Sham, 2005), or, as defined by Donabedian (1988), nursing care outcomes. Donabedian (1988) assumed that nursing care outcomes relate to structural and process quality.
