Barriers to Promoting Mobility in Hospitalized Older Adults

Hospitalized older adults are at greater risk for functional decline due to natural age-related musculoskeletal changes that are further complicated by comorbidities, chronic illness, and insufficient mobility (Cruz-Jentoft et al., 2010; Pedersen et al., 2013).
