New Position Statement: In Defense of Insect Biodiversity

Annapolis, MD; October 24, 2017 —More than half of all species on Earth are insects and related arthropods, and they play vital roles in nearly every ecosystem: as pollinators, decomposers, predators, natural enemies against invasive species and pests, sources for new genetic and medical breakthroughs, and food for other organis ms.
