IP Gloves Help Prevent Spread of Infection Thanks to Clever Trick (VIDEO)

Medical gloves are a great way to help prevent the spread of infection from person to person within clinical environments, but traditional gloves are are difficult to take off without contaminating the wrists in the process. A new product called IP Gloves aims to resolve this issue with a clever design trick that makes disposing of used gloves more tidy and sanitary. Normal gloves are often removed by pulling on their back, where the hand is inserted. This can cause the fingertips of the other glove to touch the wrist, leading to contamination from the very gloves meant to prevent it. The IP Gloves feature a “doffy” located at the wrist which can be grabbed and the glove pulled off the hand without contaminating the wrist. The group from Hanover, Germany that developed the IP Gloves believes that their device can help prevent the spread of Ebola and they’re raising funds on Indiegogo to help commercialize the product and make it available to clinicians around the world.
