Lumbar vertebra surgery performed with a bilateral intramuscular iliocostal muscle block

Some methods of perioperative pain management for lumbar vertebrae surgery have remained limited recently [1,2,3]. Intramuscular iliocostal muscle block (IMB), injects local anesthetic into the iliocostal muscle, may block posterior branches of lumbar nerve (Fig. 1). Here, we report the successful uses of bilateral intramuscular IMB in a lumbar vertebrae surgery for perioperative pain management.
