Health benefits of hallucinogens?

Hallucinogenic agents such as psilocybin, LSD, and MDMA (ecstasy) have largely been banned for decades, but are now being used for the treatment of depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and addiction. Researchers are also looking at some legal drugs that produce hallucinations, such as ketamine and esketamine, to treat major depression.
