Small incision lenticule extraction (SMILE) has been widely accepted for its safety, efficacy, predictability, and stability in correction of myopia throughout the world.1,2 In this procedure, a femtosecond laser is used to create an intrastromal lenticule, along with one corneal incision that extends to the anterior surface of the intrastromal lenticule.
