Political identities and life projects: a contribution to ciampa’s theory

The objective of this article was to discuss, in the field of Critical Social Psychology, the relevance of the construction of a political identity and the consciousness of a life project for the person ’ s emancipation , showing how identity politics act in the opposite direction, in the sense of greater heteronomy of the person. The syntagma identity-metamorphosis-emancipation, proposed by Ant ônio da Costa Ciampa, as well as its basis in the Habermas ’ theory of the communicative action, served as a theoretical reference for this discussion. It can be seen from the reading that the existence of a political identity, together with a life project autonomous lead the individual to conquer fragments of emancipation of his identity.
