Detection and analysis of abnormal nuclear changes in oral cytological smears by Papanicolaou staining
The authors demonstrate the usefulness of careful characterisation of nuclear features in oral smear preparations in detecting abnormal squamous cells. This could lead to early discovery of premalignant oral lesions and allow prompt treatment to prevent cancer development.
