Role of myeloperoxidase in abdominal aortic aneurysm formation: mitigation by taurine
This study demonstrates that MPO gene deletion or supplementation with the natural product taurine, which can scavenge MPO-generated oxidants, can prevent AAA formation, suggesting an attractive potential therapeutic strategy for AAA.
