Report Card on Walkable Communities

The National Physical Activity Plan Alliance (NPAPA) is a coalition of organizations working together to provide an evidence-based plan to guide efforts that promote physical activity in the United States. NPAPA recently released the first comprehensive national assessment of walking and walkability in the United States: The 2017 United States Report Card on Walking and Walkable Communities. The report discusses the extent to which United States citizens and communities meet selected walking standards. Information is provided about factors such as adult walking behavior, public transportation and walkable neighborhoods. State by state breakdowns regarding walking standards are also available along with information about successful walking programs.
