Extra-abdominal umbilical vein varix with thrombosis. A case report

We present a case diagnosed extra-abdominal UVV with thrombosis. UVV was detected at 23 weeks of gestation for the first time by ultrasonographic screening. She required hospital care to monitor the alteration of UVV frequently after 29 weeks of gestation. Increased edematous UVV was detected at 32 weeks of gestation by ultrasonography. On the same day, we performed emergent cesarean section to avoid acute additional risks of umbilical cord occlusion.
