One-Third of Patients With “Asthma” in the Community May Not Currently Have Asthma

Synopsis: One-third of patients with physician-diagnosed asthma did not have active asthma when evaluated with serial assessment of symptoms, spirometry, and bronchial provocation tests upon discontinuation of asthma medications, which can be attributed to diagnostic inaccuracy or spontaneous remission.
