Genetic association and phenotypic correlation of TLR4 but not NOD2 variants with Tunisian inflammatory bowel disease
CONCLUSIONIn our study, TLR4‐Thr399Ile variant is strongly associated with the susceptibility to IBD whereas, TLR4‐Asp299Gly seem to play a role in the clinical expression of UC. The rarity and non association of the NOD2 mutations with IBD in our study may reveal a genetic characteristic of the disease in our region.
