Ocular Motor Palsy After Spinal Puncture

(Abstracted from Reg Anesth Pain Med, 42(1):1–9, 2017) The purpose of this literature review is to better understand extraocular muscle palsy (EOMP), an underdiagnosed complication of subarachnoid puncture. Unfortunately, anesthesiologists are often unaware of this potential complication, and patients who developed EOMP are often initially sent to neurologists and/or ophthalmologists, resulting in extensive workups.
