Current Status of Neuromuscular Reversal and Monitoring: Challenges and Opportunities

(Abstracted from Anesthesiology, 126(1):173–190, 2017) The purpose of this article was to arrive at a scalable solution to the common problem of postoperative residual neuromuscular block (NB). While neuromuscular-blocking agents (NMBAs) were revolutionary and invaluable tools for a surgeon, their adverse effects have contributed significantly to postoperative mortality and morbidity.
