Effect of Nerve Stimulation Use on the Success Rate of Ultrasound-Guided Subsartorial Saphenous Nerve Block: A Randomized Controlled Trial

(Abstracted from Reg Anesth Pain Med, 42(1):25–31, 2017) When regional anesthesia is used for lower limb surgery, it is necessary to have dependable surgical anesthesia of the saphenous nerve. The purpose of this randomized controlled trial was to investigate the optimal approach to achieving a successful subsartorial saphenous nerve block using nerve stimulation (NS) and ultrasound (US)–guided techniques.
