Isoflurane Anesthesia Has Long-term Consequences on Motor and Behavioral Development in Infant Rhesus Macaques

(Abstracted from Anesthesiology, 126(1):74–84, 2017) The purpose of this trial was to examine isoflurane exposure in children utilizing the nonhuman primate (NHP) model. This translational research is important because there is significant experimental evidence that anesthetic exposure correlates with neural cell injury and neuron death in the developing brain.
