(Abstracted from J Anesth, 31:286–290, 2017) Bleeding causes increased morbidity and mortality in patients undergoing cardiac surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB). Inadequate management of bleeding and allogeneic blood products leads to prolonged hospital stays and adverse outcomes.
