Complexities of patients and management approaches challenge tests of effectiveness
The management and treatment of patients with musculoskeletal conditions, as clinicians well appreciate, can have complexities. In the first instance, the acuteness, chronicity of the condition or the patient's perception of the problem strongly influences which approaches to treatment the clinician needs to consider. A detailed interview/qualitative assessment and physical examination together with a detailed discussion of the findings with the patient are necessary to develop an appropriately personalised treatment approach.
