The Chikungunya epidemic in the Caribbean did not impact tourism
We read with great interest the recent paper on travelers' knowledge of Chikungunya virus (CHIKV) in the Virgin Islands National Park [1]. As reported to the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), the ongoing CHIK epidemic in the Americas has resulted in more than 2.1 million cases since it began in 2013, and local transmission has been reported in all jurisdictions in the Western hemisphere except Cuba and Uruguay.
