Brain gray matter changes in type 2 diabetes mellitus: A meta-analysis of whole-brain voxel-based morphometry study

We aimed to identify alterations in global gray matter volumes (GMV) and consistent regional abnormalities in T2DM patients via meta-analysis. Methods: A systematic search for relevant studies indexed in the PubMed and Embase databases was conducted. A quantitative meta-analysis of volumetric and whole-brain VBM data was conducted using STATA v.12.0 and AES-SDM software packages, respectively.
