Sr2+ has low efficiency in regulating spontaneous release at the Calyx of Held synapses

This study employed cell‐attached and pre/post‐synaptic whole‐cell recording at the Calyx of Held synapse in synaptotagmin‐2 knock‐out mice and revealed that Sr2+ has higher permeability through voltage gated calcium channels and lower efficiency in regulating spontaneous neurotransmitter release than Ca2+.
