ConclusionsPeripheral blood monocyte count reflecting local tumor‐infiltrating macrophages was a predictive factor for tumor progression and prognosis in patients with localized prostate cancer. Elucidating the mechanism of the interaction of peripheral monocytes with tumor‐infiltrating macrophages is necessary.
