Podcasting in Nursing Education: Using Commercially Prepared Podcasts to Spark Learning

Nurse educators increasingly rely on emerging educational technologies, including a recent expansion in the use of audio podcasting. However, most published literature focuses on the use of instructor-generated audio podcasts. A pilot study was conducted to explore the use of commercially prepared podcasts to spark student learning and critical thinking. All respondents in this study reported that the podcasting assignment sparked learning and/or inspired critical thinking or reflection on the topic.
