Effect of Anaesthesia Type on Postoperative Mortality and Morbidities: A Matched Analysis of the NSQIP Database

(Abstracted from Br J Anaesth, 118(1):105–111, 2017) The purpose of this study was to assess the effect of the type of anesthesia used on postoperative patient outcomes. This was achieved with a matched analysis of regional anesthesia (RA) and general anesthesia (GA) after adjusting for anomalies and variability in the database of the American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement.
