Fitness goals and @otheoryfitness

As evidence expands that exercise and fitness has many positive effects, an increasing number of adults should consider improving their fitness.  Several sources have convinced me that goal setting will help. When I spent a year losing weight (approximately 40#), I had small achievable goals.   I used a principle that Orange Theory Fitness put into words – “There is no after! All I am is before. There is no before and after, after implies that I am done. I AM NOT…THIS IS ME….BEFORE I GET EVEN BETTER.”  As I was losing weight, I did not consider a final goal, because I needed small successes.  Once I lost enough weight to reach a desired BMI, I was not finished.  At that point I adopted ongoing fitness goals. Listening to a running podcast this week (Rogue Running), the running coaches talked about setting goals.  Reading Meb for Mortals, he talks about setting and achieving goals. In 12 days, Orange Theory Fitness Peak Performance Week begins.  So I have set goals.  PPW fits this post perfectly.  This will be my 3rd PPW.  I have saved my times and have set goals to beat those times.  I love OTF and see it as a great way to improve my running and my golf game.  PPW predict golf improvement, but it will support my running goals. I will focus on 3 of the 5 days – the 1 mile run, the 24 minute run and the 500 m row.  I may participate in the 2000 m row.  I enjoy and appreciate long rows, but I do not see this as important competit...
