Introduction The benefits and risks of the use of connected objects in telemedicine and mhealth are uncertain for health professionals engaged in the new practices of telemedicine and connected health. Although the literature data are numerous, the published results remain controversial, often due to low methodological studies. The purpose of this article is to make a State of the art in 2016 on the use of reliable and secure objects connected to medical purpose. Material and methods This work relies on major publications in the medical literature, published until the end of 2015. They have been selected in Medline, Cochrane and Scopus databases. For telemedicine and the devices of telemonitoring, two large European studies Whole Systems Demonstrator (2009–13) and Renewing Health (2010–14), have been analyzed, as well as some French studies. For the use of the mobile connected health, the important work of two English teams, including the National Health Service, were chosen.
