Impact of delayed gratification on oral health and caries status in the primary dentition

Conclusions These data provide insights into a novel predictor for identifying individuals at a higher risk of dental caries in early childhood. Clinical significance The present study offers a new hypothesis for identifying individuals with poor oral health status. Early tools to detect the most vulnerable population sectors are critically important to reduce the global burden of caries and other oral diseases.
