The STOP-BANG questionnaire improves the detection of epilepsy patients at risk for obstructive sleep apnea

We greatly appreciate the comments about our article “The STOP-BANG questionnaire improves the detection of epilepsy patients at risk for obstructive sleep apnea.” Given the potential for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) to negatively influence seizure control and overall quality of life in people living with epilepsy, we felt it was important to per form this quality improvement project at our institution. As we describe in the article, our study was not without limitations. Given that this represented a voluntary quality improvement project, we could not force medical assistants nor physicians to administer the STOP-BANG questionnaire to every patient.
