The long‐term moderate consumption of caffeine in coffee, theobromine in cocoa or theophylline in tea, is reviewed. It is shown that this long‐term moderate consumption engages a variety of neuroprotective molecular mechanisms leading to a reduced risk of suffering from some neurodegenerative diseases.
