Headaches are one of the most common complaints presenting to the primary care physician. It is also one of the most frustrating and difficult symptoms to evaluate and manage. It has been estimated by the World Health Organization (WHO) that almost half of all adults have experienced a headache at least once in the past year; headache disorders are also the third highest cause, worldwide, for years lost due to disability.
