Endocardial fibroelastosis is secondary to hemodynamic alterations in the chick embryonic model of hypoplastic left heart syndrome
Conclusions: Abnormal hemodynamic loading during heart development leads to myocardial hypoxia, stimulating collagen production in the subendocardium.
