3D Deeply Supervised Network for Automated Segmentation of Volumetric Medical Images
Delineating important organs or structures from volumetric medical images, such as 3D computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance (MR) images, is of great significance for clinical practice especially with the proliferation of 3D images in diagnosis and treatment of many diseases. Accurate segmentation not only facilitates the subsequent quantitative assessment of the regions of interest but also benefits precise diagnosis, prediction of prognosis, and surgical planning and intra-operative guidance.
